In turn, successful work relationships have a direct and significant impact on your employees’ engagement. In this program, participants examine the elements people look for in strong leaders, and practice the skills central to influencing and negotiating without relying on power or direct control. Learn the steps to establish yourself as a leader with visibility, credibility, and positive influence in your organization.
This program is the second of four modules in the Creating an Engaged Workforce Certificate Series.
What You Will Learn:
- Understand the benefits of building positive relationships with employees.
- Build trust and credibility through appropriate interactions with others recognizing the links between managers’ behaviors and employees’ perceptions.
- Recognize opportunities for influencing direct reports, peers, and managers without relying on authority or positional power.
- Identify positions, interests, and needs of all parties and use them when negotiating and influencing.
- Deal with difficult conversations effectively and confidently.

Participants:
Experienced managers and supervisors who seek to develop advanced leadership skill sets, to enhance personal and organizational effectiveness, and to prepare for higher level leadership responsibilities. Participants should have had a fundamental leadership course as a prerequisite for this program, such as MRA’s Principles of Management Series or Human Resource Professional Series.
