Leader's Look in the Mirror - Creating an Engaged Workforce 4

Your own self-development is fundamental to improving your leadership skills and supporting the development and engagement of your employees. In this program, participants examine the connections between employee development and engagement. More specifically, participants review sources of feedback about their leadership styles, complete the online DiSC™ Classic 2.0 Communication Style Assessment, and develop a personal development plan for enhancing their leadership effectiveness.

This program is the fourth of four modules in the Creating an Engaged Workforce Certificate Series.

What You Will Learn:

  • Describe the connections between self-development and engagement drivers.
  • Describe the characteristics of a management style that supports employee engagement.
  • Use information from a variety of resources including results of a DiSC assessment for personal development.
  • Identify personal development needs and create an individual development plan.
  • Address organizational barriers to professional development.

Prerequisites:
Participants would have had a fundamental leadership course as a prerequisite for this program.

Participants:

Experienced managers and supervisors who seek to develop advanced leadership skill sets, to enhance personal and organizational effectiveness, and to prepare for higher level leadership responsibilities. Participants should have had a fundamental leadership course as a prerequisite for this program, such as MRA’s Principles of Management Series or Human Resource Professional Series.
