Job Analysis and Job Descriptions - A Practical Approach

Job descriptions can have a tremendous effect on major business objectives including recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation, communication, performance management, and succession planning. This seminar offers a direct, no-nonsense approach to performing sound and cost-effective job analysis and creating solid, multi-purpose job descriptions. Job analysis is the most basic activity in human resource management and is required to efficiently direct and/or control the operations of business as well as to respond to competition and equal employment opportunity legislation. This practical, hands-on workshop takes you through job analysis activities and has participants create accurate, complete, and multi-purpose job descriptions.

What You Will Learn:

  • Apply the process of job analysis for purposes of creating accurate and effective job descriptions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of legal issues surrounding the use of job descriptions, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and how to apply this information to written job descriptions.
