  • prepare a script file for execution.
  • write a simple script file.
  • describe the structure of conditional statements.
  • describe how the test command can be used to check or compare file properties, and discuss how two or more test commands can be combined.
  • create a Linux shell script that will display a list of the last five files edited by a user in a specific directory.
  • use looping statements in shell scripts to automate tasks.
  • read input from files or from the user, write text to the user, and write output to files.
  • use loops to process files in Linux.
  • group statements into functions.
